while trying to trap muskrats with apples i found that i was having pullouts in my legholds and my 110s were getting run over. Knowing that there was a few beaver around i made the set with a 330. The set worked great. I had beavers in it four days in a row before i pulled the set due to season almost over. The way i made the set was to cut a shelf in a steep bank to put the apples on and set a 330 half submerged like when making a castor mound set with 330. I then blocked all ways to the apples except through the trap. I wish i would have took a pic of the set, but didnt. I believe a coilspring trap on a drowner would really work good, never tried that the 330 worked well enough. Just figured i would share this incase anyone wanted to try it. Trapper friends of mine didnt belive me until they seen it ..lol I would of never believed beaver like apples until I seen it either.

I use the apples trapping beaver under ice!
i use a 4" round tree at about a 45 degree angle peel half of a whole apple and nail it right under the ice and put the trap about 4" under the apple...I have pretty good luck usen this underice!
