Adding Sodium Benzoate
If you add it to the mice and fish while they are grinding so that it mixes in well, it will preserve the smell as well. You can used it when making ground up mice baits and fish baits in a blender and it will hold that smell as long as you keep the bait "jarred up" and sealed when not using it, and it doesn't dry out. The "Rule of thumb" for using the Sodium Benzoate is to use it at the rate of about 2 table spoons per pint or about a cup per gallon but , you can use about that much, and about half again as much, as well.
note taint to the desired stage you like and then add the Sodium Ben., the tainted meat will stay at that tainted stage. Fresh mice smell will attract more cats to your sets, but when the mice have been tainted for a month or longer then the rotting flesh smell will attract more Coyotes to your set. Critters can Smell 10 times better than we can, so when we can't smell something like a fresh mouse, they sure can.
Hope this helps
