when you run short on say glands .lets take 4 oz of red fox glands and you need 6 oz for a formula. you can add other glands like cat glands, mink glands, weasel glands and rat glands.but the key point never add more glands then your main gland .in this case we used 4 oz of red fox glands so for me to get the extra 2 oz's, i need a filler i then use 2 oz of a different gland. or i take 1 oz of mink and 1 oz of rat glands this becomes my filler which gives me my six oz that i need.
as a personal note when i work with fox glands i use weasel glands as a filler as the weasel glands makes the fox goe nuts.
when it comes to a gland base lure for mink, otter, cats and grey fox and i run out of these type of glands then i use 100% mink glands .now for say i am working on a fox or mink lure i always add 1 oz of weasel glands because they get under the fox and minks skin. they hate one another.
